30 Hour Famine

Posted in "Youth" on 11/08/09

This weekend the youth group is participating in a 30 Hour Famine with St. Christopher's. For the past few weeks youth have been finding friends and family to sponsor their fasting for a whole 30 hours, the proceeds of which go to World Vision to help feed and support children and their families in poverty-stricken parts of the world.

Our Famine this year will kick off at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church this Saturday (November 14) at 3:00. We'll be doing a food drive for the food pantry, some programs, and then we'll head back across town to have a lock-in complete with worship, games, movies and more. The next morning we'll wake up and attend the 9:00 service to officially break our fast with Holy Eucharist, and then afterwards we'll celebrate with a big breakfast.

All youth are invited to attend, even if you haven't been able to get anyone to sponsor you. If you have other obligations this weekend but still want to fast with us that's great. If you haven't already, Please let Briley know by Thursday, November 13th if you can or cannot join us this weekend. He can be reached via e-mail at briley@gmail.com or by phone at (918) 246-6737.
